Rawthey Bridge (Fell End)
Rawthey Bridge (Fell End) submitted by MonumentMan : Not far (SD7241998574) from the possible Fell End stone circle described by Rev. Nichols, the moor is littered with limestone boulders which fit his written account of the stones in the circle used to build the Rawthey Bridge footing. Interestingly few boulders remain nearer Bridge Cottages, probably as they were the ones removed in 1822, along with the circle stones. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Rawthey Bridge (Fell End)
Rawthey Bridge (Fell End) submitted by MonumentMan : Fell Ponies near the possible site of the Fell End stone circle, looking west towards Wandale Hill. The site is not far from a deep natural Tarn SE of Wraygreen Farm, which is part of a line of large limestone shake-holes extending across the moor. No doubt a site of Pagan significance millenia ago. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Rawthey Bridge (Fell End)
Rawthey Bridge (Fell End) submitted by MonumentMan : A flat circular area of moorland is found opposite Bridge Cottages and immediately east of the Fell End road also locally known as the (High) Street. This is a possible site for the lost stone circle of Rawthey Bridge, and fits the location described by Rev. Nichols. No earthworks are visible, but the site has a circular shape 15m and is slightly elevated with a central depression of rushes. GPS (... (1 comment - Vote or comment on this photo)
