Church Hill Enclosure (Alton Pancras)
Church Hill Enclosure (Alton Pancras) submitted by beaconhill : Church Hill Enclosure on the Wessex Ridgeway (near Alton Pancras, Dorset) (Vote or comment on this photo)
A square earthwork, about 25m each side, a raised bank about 1m above the flat surrounding ground, immediately adjacent to the Wessex Ridgeway, not far from the famous crossroads of ancient Wessex trackways called the Dorset Gap.

Marked as an antiquity on the 1:25000 OS map as "Enclosure"

A nice place to visit - great views and a good walk with lots of other megaliths in the area. Cerne Abbas is a few km away.
