Chipping Sodbury Stone Circle
Chipping Sodbury Stone Circle submitted by TheCaptain : The new stone circle on Chipping Sodbury roundabout starting to look a bit better with spring in the air. (Vote or comment on this photo)
A modern stone circle built on the large traffic roundabout at the south eastern end of the Chipping Sodbury bypass (A432). There are 8 large stones of height between 3 and 6 feet tall in a circle of abuot 15-20 metres in diameter, with a smaller quartz encrusted stone in the middle.

New Years Day 2016 was a foul miserable dark and wet day, so in a small effort to get myself out of the house, thought I'd go and get a couple of pictures of this circle. I dont know when this was constructed, it looks fairly new and I assume the stones are from the local quarry.

I'm not sure when this was erected, I only noticed it for the first time sometime last year. A lot of spring bulbs have been planted by the stones.

Note: Spring is in the air at the new stone circle in Chipping Sodbury

This was definitely erected post 1994 when we moved into the area and more than likely post 2001 when we moved into Chipping Sodbury itself as I remember people rolling the stones into place but I cannot remember the year.
