Raise Henge? submitted by David : This Neolithic Enclosure - or what's left of it - shows better in aerial image than on the ground, perhaps. There are no other photos of it yet. (Vote or comment on this photo)
The HER has these as two post medieval tree mounds at NY 7144 4630 and NY 7144 4626. They form part of the Raise Park designed landscape. David thinks this may be a Neolithic circular banked enclosure, with what look like opposed entrances which now carry the main road to Brampton. There are houses inside it but some of the ditch and bank survives.

The Cumbrian County Archaeologist found this listed on the first O.S. as Raised Bank.
