Thames_and_Severn_Canal visited on 1st Sep 2022 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 4 Access: 4 In the care of the National Trust Newark Park estate. Parking is possible at the top of the farm track where it leaves Blackquarries Hill, just be sensible and don't block farm gates, tractors are always hard at work here. Head South along the Cotswold Way and turn left over a stile into the sheep field where you can find the monument. I've mapped all this on OpenStreetMap, check there to find it easily. Unfortunately no disabled access, which is disappointing. There is a good information board and hardly any visitors, so enjoy the view out over the Severn Estuary to the Forest of Dean and Wales, and picture this site as it was thousands of years ago.

TheCaptain visited on 13th Sep 2020 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 3 Access: 3 Revisiting this part of the Cotswold Way, and the field around the long barrow has been opened up to the public with a stile, and an information board has been placed in front of the barrow. The fence and old tree stumps have been removed, although it is all still a very untidy heap!

Welspryng visited on 20th Aug 2016 - their rating: Cond: 2 Amb: 3 Access: 4 There appears to be a change to the access of the site. A stile has been installed by the Cotswold Wardens. There is, however, no signage to say that the site is open yet! I walked over to the site and it is very overgrown and in need of attention/restoration. I will update with information as the situation develops.

4clydesdale7 visited on 13th Jun 2011 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 4 Access: 4 Quite a surprise - very peaceful - super views SW to Severn Vale - Site eroded by ploughing - boundary wall demolished for 60% of its length

TheCaptain visited on 14th Nov 2004 - their rating: Cond: 2 Amb: 3 Access: 3 The remains of this long barrow can be seen in a field at the southern end of the ridge between Tyley Bottom and Ozleworth Bottom near Wotton-under-Edge. There is a track which is part of the Cotswold Way which runs round the hill and passes close to the barrow, but I could find no way in for a closer look, although the field was empty and being used by some people flying model aircraft. The barrow remains have been fenced off, and are becoming grown over. I could see a shadowy shape sticking out of the mound, which was probably an old tree stump, but just could have been a bit of old stone.

The remains of this long barrow (with possible chambered tombs) can be seen in a field at the southern end of the ridge between Tyley Bottom and Ozleworth Bottom near Wotton-under-Edge. There is a track which is part of the Cotswold Way which runs round the hill and passes close to the barrow.

Revisiting the Cotswold Way in 2020, and the field around the long barrow has been opened up to the public with a stile, and an information board has been placed in front of the barrow. The fence and old tree stumps have been removed.

Previously the barrow remains were inaccessible and fenced off, and in 2004 were becoming grown over. I could see a shadowy shape sticking out of the mound, which was probably an old tree stump, but just could have been a bit of old stone.
