Upright stone in field of corn, can be seen from A697 near Coldstream.

For more information see Pastscape Monument No. 1093 which says: "A probable Bronze Age standing stone, allegedly later reused to mark the spot where King James IV was killed at the Battle of Flodden Field."

Just to note that the grid reference given was SU885385, giving a location in Surrey. I've checked with Pastscape and amended it to NT (which gives the correct Northumberland location) and added the link to their record.

Many thanks for bishop_pam for this entry - I don't know how many times I've driven down this road and not spotted this stone. Must open my eyes next time I pass!
