St Chad's Well (Chadkirk)
St Chad's Well (Chadkirk) submitted by TimPrevett : St Chad's Well, at Chadkirk nr Romiley, Stockport, has a very good interpretive board adjacent it; it links in the Ancient British head cult, with votive offerings of such figures into bodies of water. Uncovered in a garden in nearby Romiley was a carving of three heads (a trinity?), which is suggestively linked to the cult of Holy Wells. This image is from that board.
