Roque Nublo
Roque Nublo submitted by Klingon : Roque Nublo and Roque Rana (frog rock) (Vote or comment on this photo)
Natural Stone / Erratic / Other Natural Feature in Canary Isles

The Roque Nublo (cloud rock) was a holy mountain of the Guanches of Gran Canaria (1803m). On the top of the hill are two rock towers, the 65m tall Roque Nublo (the same name like the mountain) and the smaller Roque Rana (frog rock). On the Roque Nublo plateau (behind the tower) a large probably human made rock bowl could be found. The Guanches used this place as a sanctuary of their sun god.
