Artificial Mound in The West
Bodega Head Shellmound is a artificial mound in Sonoma County California. Sitting around 30 to 40 feet above sea level at high tide, this Miwok shell mound has been split in pieces by the waves crashing over and the erosion of the bluff beneath it. The remnants of this shell mound appear to have once formed a north to south oval shaped mound rising a few feet above the bluff.
