Moss Landing Shellmound is an artificial mound in Monterey County, California. The remains of Moss Landing Shellmound MNT-229 lay on either side of highway 1 just south of th the bridge over Elkhorn Slough. First split in half by the railroad, later by highway 1 in place of the railroad, and the final chiping away at MNT-229 came to the south end of the shellmound for the foundation of the Moss Landing Power Plant.

Archeology dates the occupation of shellmound MNT-229 to be 6,500 to 8,000 years old. Most of the excavation has been done on the east side of Highway One. More than two hundred obsidian pieces were found at the site, traveling at the nearest distance from Mariposa or Napa County California.
