Tuzigoot is an ancient village or pueblo built by a culture known as the Sinagua. The pueblo consisted of 110 rooms including second and third story structures. The first buildings were built around A.D. 1000.

The Sinagua were agriculturalists with trade connections that spanned hundreds of miles. The people left the area around 1400. The site is currently comprised of 42 acres. (from National Park Service info).

This has just come up on Random Image. Sin agua is Spanish for 'without water'. Could that be why the people left the area, I wonder?

Sinagua was Spanish name for Flagstaff AZ's mountains. by bat400 on Sunday, 12 September 2010

Drought is one of multiple suppositions for the culture's collapse. But the name comes from the older name the Spanish gave the mountains - they were unpleasantly surprised that they did not find year round mountain springs like the ones they knew in Spain.
