Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Yorkshire (North)

The Journal of Antiquities includes an entry for St Helen’s Well, Draughton, North Yorkshire, which is right beside the busy A59 road, half a mile north of Draughton village. The Journal includes photographs, a description, directions for finding this well (from the A59 between Skipton and Bolton Bridges).

Now just a large stone trough, Pastscape Monument No. 558481 gives very brief details, saying this site was derived from the 1st edition OS map from 1854.

The Journal includes a brief discussion about 'which St. Helen (Helana)?' and includes a list of information sources for more information.
