Buried in woodland just off an accessible woodland track only about half a mile off the Cotswolds Way and very close to Hailes Abbey site, these earthworks are surprisingly large and extensive but very visible from the path.

The site is overgrown but it is reasonably easy to scramble up the banks and see the impressive defensive nature of the site and the height of the top plateau. The layout and size seems very much the same as Brackenbury Camp just a short distance further to the East on the Cotswolds Way, but it appears to have two outer banks to the SW but, like Brackenbury, uses the sharp drop of the Cotswolds Scarp on the other side. I am surprised by the apparent lack of interest and information on this site given the size and preservation of the earthworks but it appears the close proximity of Hailes Abbey has taken all the archaeological precedence, which is a shame as I imagine it would be a very interesting site to investigate further. I just hope someone reads this and takes more interest (as I am not local so won't have the opportunity!)
