Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Derbyshire

Nanny's well sadly now it capped with a pump but its site is still noted and preserved. The waters were thought be healing and it is now regularly dressed. Its waters can be heard and seen through a grate. The well is capped with a plaque with attributed the name to St Anne or St Ninnian. The former seems more likley. It can be found on the right hand side on the road to lower crossings before the crossroads.

Note: Chapel En Le Frith hosts its dressing of five wells over the next week; follow the link given in the comment for further details and contact information.
