Round Barrow in Dorset

Two sad little photos of a sad little site. Fern Barrow is heavily mulitlated and degraded, being in an intensly recreational piece of townscape scrub. Beside a dirt track service road, t lies very close to a railway line cutting and in amongst the erections of large radio masts ( indeed, exactly between two masts which will aid finding ), so much so, that ( happily ) the footings of a mast tension wire is anchored close to the barrow, resulting that the tensioner has been enclosed by a thick wire fence, preserving the wire itself and indeed what is left of the barrow.

Unfortunately though, it also means that the scrub within the fenced enclosure is never cleared or grazed by wildlife and is choking the site.
