North Hill Down

Barrow Cemetery in Wiltshire. A Bronze Age barrow cemetery located in southern part of North Hill Down includes 5 bowl barrows and one possible barrow. Most of them are clearly distinguishable, with height reaching 0,9 m. One of the barrows is almost completely leveled and only trace of it's quarry ditch is visible. The excavations carried out in 19th century unearthed cremation burials and Bronze Age pottery.

Reaching the barrow cemetery is not easy, as area of the site is not under public right of way. You can try to get there from the west, as there are couple of gaps in vegetation, but you have to cross the barbed wire fence.
