Barrow Cemetery in Wiltshire

Group of 7 barrows in an area with views to Martinsell Hill.

Two of the outlying barrows have been pretty much ploughed out while the other five are grouped together in a heavily overgrown copse.

Square Copse Barrow Cemetery submitted by HarryTwenty : Obverse of the items.

Square Copse Barrow Cemetery
Square Copse Barrow Cemetery submitted by HarryTwenty : A few of the items I found scattered around the badger setts on the barrow: 4 pieces of flint, what looks like a piece of bone (animal, vegetable or mineral - your guess is as good as mine) and a piece of stone. A couple of the flints looked worked.

Square Copse Barrow Cemetery
Square Copse Barrow Cemetery submitted by HarryTwenty : The top of the barrow has been heavily excavated by badgers. Found a few objects lying around the entrance to the setts.

Square Copse Barrow Cemetery
Square Copse Barrow Cemetery submitted by HarryTwenty : Top of the barrow lit up by the sun. The undergrowth is vicious with waist high brambles, I found 2 of the 5 barrows and then called it a day after the foliage shredded my jacket. The 2 deer I startled while they were hiding in the undergrowth handled the obstacles a lot better.
