Hillfort in Gloucestershire. A very tidy univallate Iron Age Hillfort just south of the lovely village of Windrush with views to the South as far as White Horse Hill and Barbury Castle on the Marlborough Downs.

The current single bank about 8m wide and 1.5m high encloses an area of approximately 3 acres - there are just traces of another bank to the South - the entrance to the Camp about 10m wide is to the West.

The Camp is well documented in:-
(a) Rudders History of Gloucestershire 1779 p.830
(b) A paper by the renown G F Playne for the Cotteswold Naturalists Field Club 1875 Vol 6 p 210-11
(c) George Witts Archaeological Handbook of Gloucestershire 1883 Camp-108
(d) E J Burrows Ancient Entrenchments and Camps of Gloucestershire 1924
(e) Victoria County History of Gloucestershire Vol 6 (1965 Reprint)
(f) A H A Hogg's British Hillforts 1979
(g) pastscape 330012 Gloucestershire; Cotswolds; Windrush

Definitely worth a visit.
