Ancient Temple in Wiltshire

A possible Iron Age temple complex, defined by a large rectangular enclosure in the Savernake Forest. This is not visible to the naked eye. Identified by Lidar and detailed in English Heritage's "SAVERNAKE FOREST: A REPORT FOR THE NATIONAL MAPPING PROGRAMME", the enclosure, similar to known Iron Age temple complexes in southern Britain and mainland Europe is skimmed by the course of a Roman Road to its south west and Luton Lye Cottages. Sawpit Drive is just to its south east. The enclosure measures 140 metres by at least 110 metres.
