This Neolithic henge and Early Bronze Age cairn, once known locally as ‘Thrummy Hills’, are now destroyed by quarrying, and construction of the racecourse. The cairn was 38m diameter, set into the henge bank. The henge, 145m diameter, was similar in size and style to Mayburgh Henge near Penrith, being made of river cobbles and gravels. In size it was half scaled to the Swale henges of 270m diameter.

The henge was located on the opposite side of the Swale to the Scorton cursus, which would have been built earlier.
