The Ordnance Survey map of 1884 gives this feature as an "Old Gravel Pit", it no longer appears on modern maps. It is opposite and slightly north east of Hardhurst Farm (not east of it). Hardhurst Farm was originally called Mary Wall Nook (Wirksworth Archaeological Society, 2020).
