Standing Stone (Menhir) in Pays de la Loire:Loire-Atlantique

I found out about this site by chance on a tourist map. But after a few recon trips to Basse Goulaine and elementary French I failed to find it. It was not marked on any maps in the town itself. I found a Breton contact on the internet who gave me the location of the Menhir after I emailed him. The actual menhir appears on the coat of arms of Basse Goulaine so it is strange that such an emblem is not indicated.

The municipality had incorporated the Menhir into the garden of the round about which is fair enough, but this left it looking unnatural, the one side hidden by bushes had a bit of blue graffiti on it. Some investigations in the flower bed unearthed some pottery flakes and some broken stones in the shape of arrows, however i am not a specialist so I am not sure. In the garden next to this menhir there was another large recumbent rock that may be connected to the other upright menhir.
