Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Derbyshire

Two ancient wells associated with the Roman settlement of Little Chester. Both wells although possibly not Holy are certainly sacred and interesting relics. They lay near Rykneld street which lead to Aqua Arnametiae. Both wells are now dressed but this is no old tradition here but transfered from nearby St. Alkmund's well

It is 'dressed' in summer but I just missed that treat by a few days. http://www.welldressing.com/photo.php?year=2018&id=27 (Vote or comment on this photo)

The map is on the Alfreton Road side near the northern end of the park. I missed it while walking around the southern and western sides, asking three people I came across, eventually finding the well after leaving the park to walk along what must have been City Roa... Unable to find the main well shown here today at this grid ref; I walked through a small estate just like the one shown here - but nothing seemed apparent!

Agreed Tim. The grid reference is way out. Not sure without an OS map but best guess is SK 354375. The Marcus Street Well is in the lovely old streets just north of Little Chester Park and south of Darley Playing Fields.
