La Pierre de Rumfort is a purple schist block 2,8m high 1,60m wide and 0,8m thickness, located in the western part of Le Theil forest, south of the village of Le Theil de Bretagne, 29kms SE of Rennes.

The best way to find it, is to follow the D94 road south between Le Theil de Bretagne and Sainte Colombe. At "Le Haut Bois" hamlet there is a path leading alongside the forest. After 600m, at the end of the external forest track, go inside the forest, the path continues on the same direction. La Pierre de Rumfort is 250m off on the left side.

About 10m north lies a similar sized stone, almost certainly another fallen menhir.

Within a few metres of both large stones are smaller blocks. Are these stones the remnants of some much bigger group or setting? Was there once a set of alignements here ?
