Round Barrow(s) in Tyne and Wear

Information from the Pastscape site:

"A possible BA cairn called "Fairies' Castle" with a hollow on top, was removed many years ago. A 'vessel of pottery' came from this mound but it has not been preserved.

NZ 3537 4769. A plaque on the N wall of 12 Fairy Street, Hetton
reads "Site of the Fairies Cradle". The present occupant of the house
refers the name Fairies Cradle to the finding of a large dressed stone during construction of the street about 1904. Whether the stone marks
the site of the tumulus cannot be verified.

NZ 3537 4771. "Fairies Cradle", Hetton.
A cairn of stones known as Fairies Cradle or Maiden Hill, is recorded as having produced some 'urns' prior to its removal, ante 1877. The site now lies beneath 12 Fairy Street, Hetton-le-Hole."

Re: Fairies Cradle by Anonymous on Sunday, 03 February 2019
My other J
Was a child in Hetton at the
Time when according to stories this cradle was found in the brickwork of a cottage and removed to the Victoria and Albert
Museum in London. I recall looking this up some time ago and finding references to it at the V and A but can't find anything now.
