Misc. Earthwork in Yorkshire (West)

"Dyke with ditch on east side, partly surviving as an earthwork and partly destroyed. Sections are visible as earthworks on air photographs. It was previously considered a Roman road . Possibly constructed in the late 5th or 6th century. The boundary of Kingdom of Elmet or part of defence of Elmet against Anglo-Saxons in early 7th century. Now thought to be of Iron Age date. Surviving sections have been scheduled."
