You repeatedly mention "barrows" on your picture captions. Just to avoid confusion, although it is called "Five Barrows", they are not barrows. The earthwork is a rampart of an unfinished promontory fort. Some sections of the rampart have slumped creating the once mistaken belief that it was a series of barrows, hence the name. Your photographs show sections of the rampart, not "barrows".
