Grid reference given in the site description and accompanying the photographs do not match the location. Grid Reference: SK 4063 2348 is for Breedon Quarry at the village of Breedon on the Hill.

The map reference given in the site details: SK 47812 30637 is correct for the site location and the photographs. Here is the correct pastscape entry for the site:
http://www.pastscape.org.uk/hob.aspx?hob_id=315589
nothing has been found to suggest the site is any older than post medieval.

I'm struggling to find this one on Pastscape, possibly part of this listing, interesting

That's interesting. There are mounds to the west of the railway and Warren Lane, and earthworks (could be from the building of the M1 motorway), and there is a small but deep crater lake.

Monument LE118 however is to the East of both the railway and Warren Lane. It's marked 'Earthwork' on your map and on OS Landranger sheet #129.
    Please see http://www.nwleics.gov.uk/pages/ancient_monuments_and_archaeological_sites
    Note also there DR228.

So is this a tudor moated site, some sort of Roman earthwork, or a prehistoric feature? I'm inclined to think the first! Please clarify - cheers, Tim.

I'm inclined to think prehistoric, as there was nearby a prehistoric village. I have an aerial photo of it, but now it is a gravel pit.
