Standing Stone in Leicestershire and Rutland.
A 6' high standing stone near Gynsall Lane.

Photographs taken in the early 1970s and late 1980s show the stone leaning almost horizontally. However, in summer 1991 the stone was pushed upright by the farmer, who was concerned that it would be affected by the route of the Leicester Western Bypass.

Based on the description by, and used by kind permission of, Bob Trubshaw, from his Interactive Little-known Leicestershire and Rutland CD-ROM.

Is this stone still there does anyone know? I'm sure I used to be able to just catch sight of it in a field when driving down Gynsill Lane, but recently a housing estate has been built on the field. I keep looking as I drive by, but can no longer see it.
