West Sandwick Broch, Yell, Shetland Isles.

Foundation remains of a broch on a small island only accessible at low tide. The outer defences include a rock cut ditch c2.5 metres deep. The site is slowly being eroded by the sea, pottery sherds are visible in the exposed ground around the fringes of the site.

Grid Reference: HU 4403 8871 Accuracy: 5

3D Model created using Agisoft Photoscan from Kite Aerial Photographs taken on a very blustery day with wind speeds generally in excess of 30mph. The seaward side (opposite side from expanse of rock) of the site although there is not much missing from the model is poorly represented due to the limitation of where I could get the camera to given the conditions.

Date Photographed: 25 September 2014 Model created: 14 August 2015
