Round Barrow(s) in Berkshire

A 1.6 m high Bronze Age bell barrow is located near the road south from village of Ufton Nervet. Possibly there was another barrow in the nearby, currently visible as cropmark.

Read More at Pastscape.

The bell barrow is located near the road, south from centre of Ufton Nervet. It's round shape and quarry ditch are clearly distinguishable, however trees and bushes disturb observations.

promontory fort nearby by Andy B on Saturday, 19 March 2011

[SU 6287 6615 to SU 6298 6602] At Raven Hill is an I.A.
promontory Fort, consisting of a straight Bank and ditch running
NW/SE across the neck of a promontory. The SE end of the rampart is
returned, which indicates 'with hardly any element of doubt' a
Pre-Roman date. (1)

A 25 inch suvey has been made of the earthwork, which although
across a low spur, is not obviously in the Promontory Fort category.
The natural slopes to the north and south do not provide an adequate
defence, but may once have been bounded by marshy or dense vegetation. (2)
