The Larches Camp
The Larches Camp submitted by Silurian : This pic shows Alison in the middle of the first ditch - with the main run up to the inner enclosure to her left. Well worth a visit this one, very evocative. Once you visit this, and can see Gray Hill to the North with it's stone circle, think of Sudbrook to the South and Llanmelin to the West then it's easy to see how 'under' rated the local impact has been. The Larches Camp
The Larches Camp submitted by Silurian : This montage of two pics, shows the reverse view. I.E the pic is taken from the top of the main south facing rampart looking south from the top with the main enclosure behind the photographer. Alison is seen at the top of the outer defence then next to it at the bottom of the inner ring. (Vote or comment on this photo)

The Larches Camp
The Larches Camp submitted by Silurian : The Larches, one of the most evocative and under rated of our local sites. Worth the effort to get into it. Small in comparison to others. This shows, the main inner rampart from the south side looking north. The North side uses a steep hill as it's main defence but this side they made a classic deep two rampart ditch and ramp. Really interested in the site of Boudicca's last stand against the Romans.

Immediately to the West of this site is a probable location, together with Cuttle Brook. Paulersbury and Mancetter (Atherstone, Warwicks)

There is a fascinating comprehensive analysis on the 'Craft Pegg' internet site, which may include this location
