JoAtherton visited on 9th Oct 2022 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 3 Access: 5 The long barrow is on the road out of the village of Pitstone. Ample parking by the side of the road. The barrow is surrounded by houses but be warned - I was challenged by an aggressive woman who thought I was photographing her house. I explained I'd come to visit the barrow but she didn't know what I was talking about.

stevegayton visited on 5th Oct 2019 - their rating: Cond: 4 Amb: 4 Access: 5 Strangely interesting to see this barrow standing at the side of the High street surrounded by housing. Very easy access and although the roads are busy I found it quite peaceful here. The site was well cared for and has a couple of benches and plaque.

Longmans Hill Long Barrow
Longmans Hill Long Barrow submitted by JoAtherton : The quiet beauty of the suburban long barrow, replete with wheelie bins at Longmans Hill, Pitsford, Northants. Is the road name a hangover from the giants of Albion? What is it like living alongside an ancient monument? Perhaps the empty noticeboard tells us all we need to know. Does not show on Environment Agency lidar, probably because it is in a housing estate

Actually it seems to show in the lidar, but the Portal coordinates are slightly off. The site is well visible in the Lidar ~40m NNE of the coordinates currently assigned on the site page. This Lidar Map is a real treat. Thank you.
