Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Yorkshire (North)

This well is recorded by Ian Taylor and Edna Whelan of the Holy Wells Research and Preservation group (1984).
It is tucked into a wooded bank side, by the side of a bridle track on the south-west side of Hildenley Wood, south from Amotherby. It has clear water in the lovely stone trough and seems in good condition.
Taylor/Whelan quote that the well was " much resorted to by the monks of Kirkham Abbey " (four miles away) and that healing properties and uses were attributed to it. They also discovered a more elaborate but ruined well house near-by but I couldn't find it on my visit.
It is a peaceful site and I doubt many passing walkers even notice it.
