The cist runs in a NW to SE direction. I make it roughly 5½ ft. long, 32 inches wide and 32 inches deep. Three sides are intact with the NW end stone fallen. Lying just to the west of the cist, though overgrown is what I believe is the capstone. Poking around with a stick to try and make out its dimensions I believe it to be about 5ft long and 32 inches wide, so probably originally a perfect fit.
Though not shown on any map either modern or historical about 50ft to the NE of the cist is what is probably a standing stone associated with the barrow, this is at NZ 86889 03568. It is about 32 inches high and roughly 15 inches square at the bottom, though this then tapers to a point on the easterly and westerly faces.
‘HERR’ has information on Greenlands Howe at MONUMENT 29305 as does the ‘Smell of Water’ HERE
Note 1: Previous to my visits to this site in May/June 2022 I was unaware of the ‘Smell of Water’ webpage and though I knew there was a cist at this location I had no idea what to expect and was amazed as to how good it is. I also note in their diagram that they also show what I think is the ‘capstone’ and a ‘standing stone’ with more information regarding alignments.
Note 2: On a return visit in June 2022 to try and obtain better photos as it was overcast on my first visit I noticed the barrow was beginning to become overgrown and probably will become more so as the season progresses. May was probably the best time to visit.
