Thorncroft Spring (Leatherhead) submitted by DavidCWoods : A short distance away the stream joins the river. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Surrey. Noted in “Holy Wells and Magical Waters of Surrey” by Rowland G.M. Baker, published in Source Magazine, the stream is listed as a noted eye-curer.

I visited in March 2006. I took the B2450, main road out of Leatherhead beside the River Mole. At the bottom of Gimcrack Hill, the entrance to the Thorncroft estate appeared on the left, leading to a small bridge over the river. Immediately beside the main road, a stream emerges from a culvert and flows beside the drive down to the river.

I’ve only seen water gushing out of the hillside at silent pool enough to suggest it good enough to drink. I’m just really keen to find a good source of natural spring water near Guildford or beyond but as close as possible to. Does anyone know any better please?

I saw this, and as its walking distance from my office i had a walk here today. Nice spot and the water was pretty free flowing. Any other day i would have walked past and thought nothing of what it really is.

[falls down in amazement] - this one is in walking distance of me and I didn't know about it.
Thanks!
