Round Barrow in Yorkshire (East)
Bronze Age round barrow, reused in the Medieval period as a gallows. It has been ploughed down and now measures 6 metres in diameter and 0.2 metres high. Beaker pottery and flint arrowheads have been recovered from the barrow during excavations in 1958. A number of inhumations were also uncovered and are interptreted as execution victims. Scheduled.
