Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Lincolnshire Some of the clearest water I have every seen bubble up through the rocks to fill these four basins. The wells have an ancient origin and were the reason for the village's foundation, water from them was also used to fill the church font suggesting a possible holy origin too.

Horbling Spring Well is situated on Spring Lane in the village of Horbling, Lincolnshire.

The water rises in a central cistern and feeds three more troughs.

There's an interesting article showing how the spring is in use in modern times for baptism in living water and the article also states "The Spring Wells are natural artesian springs and are fed by the Lincolnshire Limestone Aquifer where water bubbles up from the rocks deep below." More at
