Causewayed Enclosure in Cambridgeshire. The prehistoric site near Peterborough that featured on a Time Team TV programme on 30 January. The site, which a local archaeologist says was a former marketplace, dates back to 3,500 BC.

Dr Francis Pryor, President of the Council for British Archaeology, said the site was one of the country's earliest meeting places. "They are ceremonial meeting centres, marketplaces, which were constructed around 6,000 years ago. They really are the earliest sort of gathering places in British history," he said. A Neolithic cathedral? by Andy B on Saturday, 17 November 2007
(User Info | Send a Message)
Huge circular cropmarks, visible only from the air, mark the existence of some intriguing archaeological remains in a field near Peterborough, on the edge of the Fens. Archaeologists believe the two concentric circles are what they call a causewayed enclosure, dating from the Neolithic era.

There's nothing now visible, but they have got to be worth a visit for megarak practitioners of 'extreme stones hunting'. How about taking us some photos?
