Monk's Hole Barrow submitted by Iain_P : I wandered round the outer rim and the inner ditch and recorded the trail with a Garmin (Background to the top image is an old Google Maps image). As you can see from the strange trail, it's almost impossible to see it properly close up. And it's huge; I measured the inner mound to extend to around 26m in diameter and the outer bank to 50m (Vote or comment on this photo)

Monk's Hole Barrow submitted by Iain_P : On arriving at the location, there was no barrow immediately apparent in the recently ploughed field but after a while it could be discerned as a low mound, lighter in colour than the surrounding area, and with an obvious darker ring around it, forming a shallow depression around the mound, and a slight raised bank around the ditch, more obvious to the w And depression was what felt, looking at t...
