Holy Well in Greater London.
Hidden within St. Brides, Fleet Street. The well is believed to be pre-Roman.

The Romans built here but the purpose of the building is not known. A church was built here in 6th Century and named in honour of Bride - from the plan, the well appears to have been outside the church to the south-east, but was incorporated into it during a 15th Century rebuild. It is now concealed within the south-east corner of the site and is not open to the public - I was told that it was inaccessible even to church staff.
