Ancient Cross in Cornwall

Paul Church is easy to find though not so visible as Buryan.This Cross is part of the wall.It just looks unusual.

Paul Churchyard submitted by Bladup : Last year when i added the first photo of the cross shaft in the wall of the church i wrote "A highly decorated cross-shaft was identified in 2006 built horizontally into the external wall on the north side of Paul church, I wonder whether it ever went with the crosshead that's to be found a few yards away?" I now add that there's a cross shaft base (see photo) not to far away in an old wall at SW... (Vote or comment on this photo)

Paul had left Wales when King Mark of Cornwall asked him to teach the people of Cornwall about Christ. From Cornwall he travelled to Brittany where he became Bishop of Leon. The present church dates from 1600, being rebuilt after a Spanish attack. The wheel headed cross on the churchyard wall dates from the 9th or 10th centur...
